This is my first “photo bouquet” of 2016 wildflowers. My treasure hunting forays have been sporadic. I’ve found many of my old floral friends, but others have eluded me either because they came and went before I visited or because our paths haven’t crossed yet. I’ve missed yellow lupine, shooting stars, globe lilies and paintbrushes. But the season is far from over and you may see another photo bouquet.
Not every flower in this collection is truly wild. The calla lily, for example, is an adventurous soul, escaping cultivated gardens to live in wilder places. They seem to particularly like ocean views. Don’t we all.
